We sincerely hope you are all having a great holiday weekend and apologize if you are unable to view the calendars on our pages. It appears our software provider is experiencing an outage which was caused by an electrical fire. Miami, the ever so great Magic City, never fails to bring an abundance of free Independence Day celebrations for all those brave enough to stick around during the sweltering rainy season. During daylight, bring your sunscreen and bottled water to line the streets for a parade on Key Biscayne, or pack a cooler and head to any beach if you dare brave the crowds in search of some sand & sun. Just after sunset, some of the most popular (and free) firework displays can be witnessed from Bayfront Park, as well as 8th & Ocean on South Beach. These are just a handful of suggestions, however, those of you in search of something different this year may find comfort in knowing a variety of free events are taking place all over the city!  Click through our pages and find something fun for everyone!  Happy 4th of July South Florida!

Everglades National Park  is among 147 U.S. national parks that will waive entrance fees for two more weekends during this summer of 2009. The free weekends are:

• July 18-19.
• August 15-16.

Everglades National Park normally charges $10 per private vehicle, or $5 for an individual 17 years and older who enters with a bicycle or motorcycle, or on foot.  So grab your bug spray, sunblock and plenty of water and head out to the Everglades!
